2016-2017 School Year
Dear P.S. 101 Families,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Marisol Barreto and I am the new Parent Coordinator.
My role as Parent Coordinator is to support and involve you, the parent community, in your child’s education. I will be working with Principal Paniagua to address parent issues and concerns at the school.
As a parent myself, I understand the importance of being involved in our children’s school. I have three kids who went to public schools and I have always enjoyed being included in any aspect of their education.
I have worked many years with the Department of Education as well as with the Department of Health within the public school system. I love working with people and children. I am at my best when I am helping families.
I invite you to take an active role in your child’s learning. Family and community engagement has a positive impact on school improvement. We are committed to giving families the tools they need to be full partners in the education of their children. I encourage you to learn about what you can do at the school by getting to know your child’s teacher, getting involved in our Parents as Learning Partners program, and joining us at our monthly Parent Workshops.
If you would like to be added to my e-mail list to receive news of school and parent events, please send me an e-mail at Mbarreto@schools.nyc.gov.
I look forward to working with you for the rest of the school year!
