Parent/Teacher Conferences

1/2 Day. Tuesday Parent Teacher Conference

October 29, 2008

Dear Parents,

Parent/Teacher Conferences will take place on Thursday, November 20th. The afternoon session will be from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. and the evening session will be from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. This is an opportunity for a brief discussion with the teacher, about your child’s social and academic progress in school. Discuss assignments, projects and tests coming up, and ways in which you can support your child at home to help insure his/her success. Report Cards will be distributed on Wednesday, November 19th.

Support services personnel (guidance counselor, psychologist, SETSS teachers, Speech teachers, O.T., P.T. and ELL teachers) as well as all cluster teachers (art, music, physical education, science, social studies and technology) will all be available, should you wish to meet with them. A list of staff members and locations will be provided as you enter the building.

In order to accommodate all of the parents who will be coming to speak with teachers, you will be given a specific appointment. Please return the tear off at the bottom of this letter, so that the classroom teacher can schedule an appointment most convenient for you. Each conference will last approximately 5 minutes. If you need to have a more extended conversation with your child’s teacher, please schedule an additional date/time for a phone conversation or in-person meeting. In fairness to all families, we ask that you respect the appointment times and the duration allotted for each conference.

Open School visits will take place on November 18-20. That will be an opportunity for you to sit in your child’s class during morning lessons, to observe the class in action. You will be getting a separate notice about the specific day and time to observe your child’s class. In advance, thank you for your cooperation in making Parent Teacher Conferences and Open School visits orderly and productive experiences.

Sincerely,

Ronnie Feder
