Reading Workshop

• Readers notice that themes live in more than 1 text by comparing books that we have read in the past

• Readers explore symbolism in texts by articulating ideas with partners

• Readers compare the points of view of different characters & how it affects the text’s meaning

 

Writing Workshop

• Writers think about which moments from the story make their idea most visible

• Writers compare a moment in the story with a moment in their life to support an idea

• Writers explore how different authors interpret the same idea
